Stevia has a GI-value of zero.
It is "harmless" for those with diabetes and hypogycemia, since Stevia neither raises levels of blood-sugar, nor affects the production of insulin.
It is claimed that Stevia affects the oral environment for caries bakteria negatively, as has been known for a long time about xylitol (birch-sugar).
